Plan the trip, not just the basket
Put the items you are considering on your shopping list before you drive. The list shows which shop is cheapest for each item, and the order the shops come in from the border, so you do not drive the same stretch twice.
Compare per litre, not per pack
A case of 24 cans always looks like a deal. The price per litre tells you whether it is one — and whether a different size in the same shop is cheaper still.
Deposits and allowances
